What a day!

Today was a fun Saturday. Earlier this week I promised my nieces that they could come swimming at our apartment on Saturday. So right after I woke up this morning, I got a call from Elle asking if they could come swimming. Lil kids never forget anything. So Spencer and I went to pick Elle and Abby up. Elle's friend Emily wanted to come, so we took her as well. It was so much fun swimming! Spencer and I took turns swimming laps. Boy, is that a workout! Lets just say my skin hasn't seen sun (or tanning bed) for over two years. Yeah, I am bright red! Cross your fingers that it turns into a tan. (ok, so you have found out I am not good at taking pictures. Spencer has this really nice camera & at the time I couldn't find the zoom button. So anyways, that's Spencer and Elle in the corner of the swimming pool. Needless to say, I did get a lecture on how to use the camera when Spencer saw the picture. Oh well! )

Then tonight we had the bridal shower I have been planning for my cousin, Cara. Us girls had a lot of fun! Poor Spencer was at home bored out of his mind. We themed the shower The couples first......... I had their first night! Cara was a lil embarrassed (& excited). It will come in handy!

Well that was our day!

Congrats are in order!

Last night was a great night for me and Spencer! We went to the temple with my cousin Cara who was going through for the first time. She is getting married next week! I am so happy for her. I can't believe just a few (or maybe 16?) years ago...we were playing house and Cara was my daughter! Oh, how time flies! Congrats Cara!

This morning at 3:08 am, our niece Brynnlie Jean Halford was born! She weighs 7lbs 3 oz and is 19 inches long! She is darling! I love all her hair! Hopefully we can go visit her when Spencer gets off work! Congrats Clint, Amanda, and Brigham!!!

6 Random Things About Me...

1. I am Obsessive Compulsive when it comes to cleaning! You can ask anyone in my family and they will tell you all the little things I do that makes them laugh. The other day my visiting teachers were over and they noticed my remotes all lined up in a straight line from biggest to smallest...haha I know it's crazy! Good thing Spencer isn't filling this out...he could go on & on about the funny (or stupid?) things I do!

2. I am a softy! I cannot tell people no! My friends at school and Spencer are in the process of toughening me up. My thing is...I don't like to hurt anyones feelings. Hence, I am always babysitting or doing things for others! Spencer doesn't like his wifey getting used all the time, but for some reason I cannot say no...to anyone!

3. For my peace of mind...I workout five times a week. I have done it for so long that it is a habit! I feel crappy all day until it is over with! Don't get me wrong, I don't enjoy it! But, I do enjoy when it is over...ya just feel so good afterwards!

4. I have read my scriptures and wrote in my journal every night since I was 12! It is another habit of mine! Some people might have a hard time believing me, but I have got journal after journal to prove it!

5. I am addicted to the chips & salsa and chicken fajitas at the restaurant La Luna! Poor Spencer he is always a sport and takes me there! I am glad I married a man who can eat anywhere! I am not like that. I am a picky eater!

6. I love taking care of things (people, animals, plants, etc.) I love taking care of little kids! They are so fun to be around. I love taking care of my two dogs and fish. I know...I need kids, right? I agree! I also love taking care of my potted flower Spencer got me! I am always looking out the window to make sure the wind isn't too strong (ya know, so the petals won't blow off). Once again.. Spencer laughs when I do this and assures me...It is fine!

Memorial Day weekend

Our Memorial Day weekend has been great so far. Saturday Spencer and I hung out at home, worked out together, went to dinner, and then went shopping. We had so much fun together and made each other laugh the whole time. I love my husband. On Sunday, we headed to Orem to see Spencer's cousin Braden speak at his farewell. He did a great job! We sure are going to miss him! During Sacrament, Spencer saw someone that looked very familiar! It was a boy Spencer knew from the area Spencer served a mission. Now he is serving a mission here! What a small world! Spencer was so excited to "catch up" with him. It was cool and of course I had to take a photo of them! After church, we headed over to Braden's house for lunch. Spencer and the guys played basketball pretty much the whole time. Occassionally Spencer would get me out to shoot his hoops for him. It was a lot of fun. I played with our lil niece and nephews on the trampoline and the slide. I wish I had a pic of them too! They are so cute! Right now we are getting ready to head back to Orem to spend the day with Spencer's fam!

Well another week has gone by. What fun it was! Spencer worked so hard and long this weekend. He is one worn out boy! On Friday I babsat my sister Jen's kids (Elle, Abby, and Andrew). Then Patti's kids (Emma, Gage, and Chance) found out so they came to play as well! My cousin Alicia came over so we could prepare invitations to our cousin Cara's Bridal Shower. They turned out darling! It's fun to be crafty when I'm not busy with school. Friday night, Spencer and I went to the Jazz game. It was so sad to see the Jazz lose the season by 3 points. All in all our night ended great! We got Korver and Brewer's autograph! They are so awesome and very sweet to stop for us! All I had was the lil Jazz pamphlet so that's what they signed. We have great pics of Korver so I will definately post that pic for all the ladies out there! It's on our camera and Spencer has it right now, but I will post it asap.
About the flowers...I have wanted to get pretty flowers to put by our door. In Idaho we had a town house that we love and miss! We (or I?) loved planting flowers so we definately miss that! Well Spencer came home and kept trying to get me to come outside...like Jess, let's go walk the dogs. I said hon, I just did. Finally, he said Hey, let's go buy ya some flowers. So out the door I went! Much to my great surprise, there were the beautiful flowers outside our door! I love them! Thanks Spencer! You are the best! I love you very much! What a fun surprise!!!

Our weekend!!

This weekend was fun for Spencer and I. On Friday we babysat our nephew Brigham while his parents went to the Jazz game. We took him to dinner with us and then came back to our house to watch the Jazz game. The Jazz won! That was awesome. On Saturday we went to Spencer's cousin's wedding luncheon and then his whole fam came back to our house and all the guys played basketball. They were fun to watch, but stinky to be around, haha! After everyone left, Spencer and I had date night! We went to eat and then saw the movie "What Happens in Vegas." We thought it was hilarious. We don't remember the last show that we went to that made us laugh like this one did. We recommend everyone to see it. Don't worry, it isn't funny in a crude way, it's kept pretty clean. On the way home that night, Spencer went over a bump and I hit my head very hard on the side of the car. Sunday morning I woke up without a goose egg (which isn't a good sign). I had a horrible headache all day and was nauseated so I probably had a slight concussion. Spencer would also tell ya I was quite out of it. We got to talk to Spencer's brother Shayne who is serving a mission in Mexico. Lets just say he still has his fun personality. He makes me laugh all the time. I love it! Anyway, we watched the Jazz again on Sunday. They beat Lakers again!!! Go Jazz! Spencer and I are going to get tickets for Friday's game. Anyone want to join us? AFter the game we visited my step mom, my aunt, and my grandma for mother's day. We had fun catching up with our fam! As for our mothers, we saw my mom Sunday morning and Spencer's mom on Saturday. We hope they all had a great mother's day!
